This Cookie Policy explains how Moscow Vibes (moscowvibes.com) uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies. It describes their purposes, how you can manage your preferences and what happens when external services are enabled. For information about how we process personal data, please read our Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They can remember preferences, support website functions and help recognise returning browsers.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, tracking pixels and scripts that store information on or access information from your device. Browser caches and service workers may also store resources for offline access and other website functions.
Some technologies are necessary to provide functions you request. Others may be used for statistics, advertising, affiliate services or displaying content from external providers.
How We Use Them
Under Section 25(1) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), storing information on or accessing information from a user’s device generally requires consent unless a statutory exception applies.
Section 25(2) TDDDG includes an exception where storage or access is strictly necessary to provide a digital service explicitly requested by the user.
We use technologies covered by an applicable statutory exception without requesting separate consent. Optional technologies that require consent are intended to remain inactive until you agree to the relevant category.
Where personal data is processed on the basis of consent, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Other processing operations may rely on different legal bases, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
For visitors in the United Kingdom, applicable UK GDPR and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations requirements must also be observed.
Categories
- Necessary: Technologies required for essential website functions, security, remembering your cookie preferences and providing features explicitly requested by you. These are enabled where an applicable legal exception permits their use without consent.
- Statistics: Optional technologies used to understand how visitors interact with pages and website features. Technologies requiring consent remain disabled until you agree.
- Advertising and partner offers: Optional advertising and affiliate services, including Travelpayouts widgets and other partner tools that may use external scripts or tracking technologies. Services requiring consent remain disabled until you agree.
- External content: Optional content from external providers, including embedded Google Maps and other third-party resources that may transmit technical information or use cookies. Services requiring consent remain disabled until you agree.
The presence of a consent category does not necessarily mean that every possible service in that category is active. The services actually used are described in our Privacy Policy and the cookie overview below.
Ordinary affiliate links to Amazon or travel partners may operate differently from embedded advertising or booking widgets. Selecting an external link may cause the destination provider or affiliate network to process information under its own privacy arrangements.
Some Moscow Mode features use local storage, IndexedDB or browser caches for saved places, travel plans, notes, photographs and offline information. Whether a particular storage operation requires consent depends on its purpose and the applicable legal requirements.
Change Your Choice
You can review, change or withdraw your consent at any time using the button below, the Cookie settings link in the website footer or the cookie settings control where available.
Withdrawing consent applies to future processing and does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
After you withdraw consent, optional services requiring that consent should no longer load on subsequent page views. Cookies or stored information that our website can lawfully and technically remove may also be deleted.
We cannot directly delete every cookie or item of information stored by an external provider on its own domain. You may need to remove such information through your browser settings or contact the provider.
Withdrawing consent does not automatically erase information that an external provider has already received.
Cookies and Storage in Detail
The following overview provides information about cookies and storage technologies identified by our consent management system, including their purposes and available retention details.
Necessary
Needed for the site to work, for example to remember your cookie choice and to deliver pages quickly. These cannot be switched off.
External content
Videos, maps, fonts and other content from other providers. Your IP address is sent to them when this content loads.
Cookies From Other Providers
Depending on the features you use and your consent choices, external services may include Travelpayouts, Google Maps and other providers described in our Privacy Policy.
Travelpayouts widgets may load scripts from the provider and its partners. Google Maps embeds may transmit information such as your IP address and browser details when activated. These providers may also use cookies or similar technologies according to their own privacy arrangements.
Amazon affiliate links may contain tracking identifiers. When you select one, Amazon or an associated redirect service may process information for affiliate attribution under its own policies.
Our website also uses QUIC.cloud for caching or optimisation functions. Depending on the enabled configuration, QUIC.cloud may process technical request information. Necessary content delivery and optional tracking technologies must be assessed separately.
An ordinary link to PayPal does not itself require a payment cookie from PayPal to be stored through our website. If you select the link, PayPal may process information on its own website.
We cannot directly control how external providers use cookies on their own websites. Further information about recipients and data processing is available in our Privacy Policy.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies and other stored website data. You can usually find these options in the browser’s privacy or website settings.
Blocking necessary storage may affect some functions, such as remembering your consent preferences or maintaining saved information between visits.
Deleting browser storage may also remove saved travel plans, notes, photographs, offline guides and other information stored locally by Moscow Mode. This information may not be recoverable after deletion.
Proof of Your Choice
Our consent tool stores your preferences in a cookie named mvps_consent. According to the current configuration, the cookie lasts for 180 days and contains your selection, the settings version and a random identifier.
If consent logging is enabled, we may retain a record containing the time of your choice, the selected preferences, the settings version and the random identifier. Such records are intended to document consent decisions and are not designed to contain your name or IP address.
A random identifier may nevertheless qualify as personal data under the GDPR. Where recording consent is necessary to demonstrate compliance with legal obligations, the applicable legal basis may be Article 6(1)(c) GDPR in connection with Article 7(1) GDPR. Storage of a necessary preference cookie may fall within Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG.
Further information about consent records and storage periods is available in our Privacy Policy.
